Terms of use
The rules for using FileSeen, in plain language. Last updated 18 October 2026.
Using FileSeen
FileSeen lets you upload a file, share it as a link and see when the link is opened. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Your files
- You keep all rights to what you upload. FileSeen only stores and shows your file so the link works.
- You must have the right to share what you upload.
- Anyone who has your link can open the file unless you add a password. Link addresses are made from file names, so treat them as findable and protect anything sensitive.
What you may not share
- anything illegal where you or the reader is;
- malware, or files meant to trick people into giving away passwords, payments or personal details;
- pages or documents that collect money under false pretences;
- content that harms children, harasses people or shares someone's private information without their consent.
Links that break these rules may be removed without notice, and the account behind them may be blocked. To report a link, use the report page.
The free plan
- 3 links ever created, with every feature, and files up to 95 MB. Deleting a link does not free a slot.
- Web pages, ZIP files and video cannot be uploaded.
- Uploads are rate-limited to stop abuse.
- Pro is listed at $12 a month or $99 a year. While Pro is in early access, choosing it is free: no card is taken and nothing is charged. If paid plans start, you will be asked first, and nothing renews automatically.
- You can switch from Pro back to the free plan at any time from your account. Your links keep working.
The service
FileSeen is provided as it is. It aims to be reliable, but it cannot promise that it will always be available or that a file can never be lost, so keep your own copy of anything important. Features may change, and FileSeen may stop offering the service; if it does, account holders will be told by email first.
To the extent the law allows, FileSeen is not liable for indirect losses that come from using or not being able to use the service.
Ending your use
You can delete your links at any time, and ask for your account to be deleted by emailing hello@fileseen.com.
