How it works

How to convert Pages to PDF

Works on Windows, Chromebook, Linux and phones.

  1. Step 1

    Choose the .pages file

Pick it or drop it on the box. Converting starts at once.

  2. Step 2

    Wait a few seconds

The file is converted to PDF on the server, then deleted.

  3. Step 3

    Download the PDF

It opens in any browser and prints the same everywhere.

What the PDF keeps

Tested on real Pages files from Pages '09 up to Pages 15.

  • Page layoutPages, margins, headers, footers and footnotes.
  • Text and tablesSearchable text, not a picture of it.
  • Pictures and shapesPhotos, shapes and text boxes in place.
  • Every versionPages '09 files and every Pages version since 2013.

Limits

  • Apple fonts such as Helvetica Neue and San Francisco are swapped for close matches, so a line can break in a slightly different place.
  • Comments are not kept, and charts may be left out.
  • A file with a password cannot be converted. Remove the password in the app first.

Where your file goes

Browsers cannot read Pages files, so this tool works differently from the other FileSeen tools: the file is uploaded. It travels over an encrypted connection to FileSeen's own server, where LibreOffice converts it in a sealed-off folder with no internet access. The original and the converted copy are deleted as soon as the result is sent back, usually within seconds. Nothing is kept, nobody looks at it, and the file name is not logged.

Rather not upload it? On a Mac, iPhone or iPad, the app itself can export it: in Pages, choose Share, then Export and Send (Apple's steps).
