Acceptable use policy
What FileSeen is for, what it may not be used for, and how misuse is handled. Last updated 20 October 2026.
What FileSeen is for
FileSeen is for sending your own documents to the people you work with, such as proposals, pitch decks, reports, quotes and CVs, and seeing when they are opened and read.
What you may not share
- anything illegal where you or the reader is, including content you do not have the right to share;
- malware, or files meant to trick people into giving away passwords, payments or personal details (phishing);
- pages or documents that collect money under false pretences, including fake invoices and investment scams;
- content that sexually exploits or harms children;
- adult or sexually explicit material;
- content that harasses or threatens people, or shares someone's private information without their consent;
- spam, including documents made only to place links for search engines.
What you may not do
- use FileSeen as general file storage or to distribute software, films, music or other content you do not own;
- get around the plan limits, for example by making many accounts;
- try to break, overload or get into parts of the service that are not yours.
How misuse is handled
- Every shared page has a "Report this page" link. Anyone can also use the report page.
- A person reviews every report. A link that breaks this policy is turned off for everyone, and the account behind it may be blocked.
- Clear cases, such as phishing or malware, are removed without notice.
