Pages to Word

Convert Pages to Word

Turn an Apple Pages file into a Word document (.docx) that opens in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice. No Mac needed.

Uploaded over an encrypted connection, converted, then deleted right away. Never stored or shared.

How it works

How to convert Pages to Word

Works on Windows, Chromebook, Linux and phones.

  1. Step 1

    Choose the .pages file

Pick it or drop it on the box. Converting starts at once.

  2. Step 2

    Wait a few seconds

The file is converted to .docx on the server, then deleted.

  3. Step 3

    Download the Word file

Open it in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice and edit it.

What the Word file keeps

Tested on real Pages files from Pages '09 up to Pages 15.

  • Text and stylesHeadings, bold, italic, lists and paragraph styles.
  • TablesRows, columns and cell text.
  • PicturesPhotos and images in the document.

Limits

  • Apple fonts such as Helvetica Neue and San Francisco are swapped for close matches, so a line can break in a slightly different place.
  • In page layout documents, text boxes become frames in Word. Their place on the page can move a little.
  • Comments are not kept, and charts may be left out.
  • A file with a password cannot be converted. Remove the password in the app first.

Where your file goes

  • Browsers cannot read Pages files, so this one is uploaded.
  • It is converted on FileSeen's own server, with no internet access.
  • Both copies are deleted within seconds. The file name is not logged.
  • Rather not upload? In Pages, choose Share, then Export and Send (Apple's steps).
